In the health field we have recently acted as Consulting Engineers for new Health Centres, Nursing and Residential Homes in various parts of the country. Because of their function these residential facilities are normally low rise.

Timber frame is usually the most economic form of construction, with large span timber trusses ensuring that a flexible, barrier free environment is achieved.

	Bennochy Care Home, Kirkcaldy At a value of £2.1m, the project involved the construction of a 60 bed Carehome, on a cleared brownfield gap site. McGregor McMahon & Associates were employed to provide full civil and structural duties which involved demolition, ground and contamination testing, followed by structural and civil engineering design, detailing and specification for the Carehome and associated hardstanding requirements.
	Resource Centre and Townhouse Development, Dunfermline At a value of over £2.1m, this development forms a landmark for visitors entering Dunfermline from the west. The project comprises of a mix of 12 houses to rent (owned by Canmore Housing Association), the Resource Centre and a 9 bedroom accommodation unit (owned and managed by Fife Council). The development was constructed on a very tight site with a plan area of approximately 0.35ha.
